INVOCATION <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COMMISIONERS MEETING <br /> Tuesday, October 22, 2019 <br /> Dear God, <br /> That ever-present spirit that breathes love and connection and <br /> belonging so faithfully across our broken world, <br /> Help us this hour to remember that-there. is,no "Us" and "Them" in <br /> your creation... <br /> Help us to remember that you made us all irretrievably "in your holy <br /> image"-- no matter: <br /> • what color of skin... <br /> • what language of tongue... <br /> • what music of soul... <br /> • what place of birth... <br /> • what faith of heart... <br /> • what orientation of love, identity or gender... <br /> We are all your children... <br /> Precious...particular...holy. <br /> May we govern ourselves (across this wide world...and here in this <br /> local community)... <br /> Never forgetting our indissoluble belonging to one another...as children <br /> of God...equally beautiful...the one human family clinging to earth (and <br /> one another) for life and being. <br /> Amen. <br />
