B. Organization Capability <br />1. Description of the countywide purpose the funds will be used for: <br />The Guardian ad Litem Program represents children that have been abandoned, abused and <br />neglected in Indian River County. Through circuit court appointment, the Guardian ad Litem <br />Program gives Indian River children who find themselves involved in the Court system a <br />voice in the courts. The funding provides for the staff members of the Guardian ad Litem Program <br />to adequately represent the children in this process. <br />2. Listing of specific programs your agency offers to our community. <br />The Guardian ad Litem Program is a crucial component of the Dependency system, this program <br />provides a voice for children who have been abandoned, abused and neglected. The Guardian ad <br />Litem Program takes a proactive role in each child's life and ensures their best interest is <br />represented in the Court system. The Program works with a large number of social service <br />agencies to ensure the children's voice is heard. <br />
