Brown <br />County Administrator <br />DATE: December 30th, 2019 <br />SUBJECT: 2020 Indian River County Legislative Priorities <br />BACKGROUND <br />The 2020 Florida Legislative Session begins on January 14th, 2020. Indian River County staff has <br />put together a proposed legislative program which includes an appropriation for the North <br />Sebastian Septic to Sewer program and policies related to biosolids, higher -speed passenger rail, <br />recycling, and other relevant policy areas which affect Indian River County. <br />In addition to specific policy issues, the proposed legislative program contains a number of guiding <br />principles as well as a policy statement directing opposition to any legislative action which takes <br />away the home rule authority of local governments in Florida. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />County staff recommends that the Board adopt the proposed 2020 Indian River County Legislative <br />Priorities. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />2020 Indian River County Legislative Priorities <br />125 <br />
