Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final January 14, 2020 <br />Approved Resolution 2020-005, amending the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Budget. <br />8.D. 19-1197 Assignment of Lease and Rent from Theodore Bartosiewicz <br />Recommended Action: Staff recommends the Board approve the Assignment of Lease and Rent from <br />Theodore Bartosiewicz, and authorize the Chairman to execute the document on <br />behalf of the Board. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Assignment of Lease and Rent <br />Approved staffs recommendation <br />8.E. 19-1204 Bike Walk Indian River County, Inc., Donation of a Bicycle Repair Stand for the <br />Wabasso Beach Park <br />Recommended Action: <br />Staff respectfully recommends the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners accept the agreement with Bike Walk Indian River County, Inc. and <br />authorize the chair to execute the same. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />BWIRC unsigned agreement <br />Commissioner Solari spoke of his appreciation for Bike Walk Indian River County, <br />Inc., as they have installed and agreed to maintain several bike repair stations <br />throughout the County. <br />Malcolm Allen, owner of Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks and a member of the <br />Board for Bike Walk Indian River County, Inc., thanked the County for supporting <br />their mission to improve the infrastructure for the safety of cyclists and pedestrians. <br />Mr. Allen provided the locations of the nine (9) free bike repair stations that Bike <br />Walk Indian River County, Inc. and Vero Cycling, Inc. have committed to. <br />Vice Chairman Flescher remarked that local residents may be interested in <br />sponsoring a bike repair station, and Mr. Allen replied that he could be contacted <br />directly at Orchid Island Bikes and Kayaks. Mr. Allen added that two (2) <br />bicyclists, who wished to remain anonymous, were responsible for funding the bike <br />repair station at the Wabasso Beach Park. <br />Parks and Conservation Resources Director Kevin Kirwin thanked Bike Walk <br />Indian River County, Inc., including Hugh Aaron and Malcolm Allen, for their <br />continued efforts in assisting bicyclists. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Solari, seconded by Vice Chairman Flescher, <br />to approve staffs recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Adams, Vice Chairman Flescher, Commissioner Zorc, Commissioner <br />O'Bryan, and Commissioner Solari <br />Indian River County Florida <br />Page 3 <br />
