Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes — Final March 3, 2020 <br />Spring Residential Paper Shredding Event to be held on April 11, 2020 <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Contract Memorandum of Understanding <br />Susan Flak, Recycling Education and Marketing Coordinator, SWDD, <br />announced the details of the Spring Residential Paper Shredding Event on April <br />11, 2020. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan thanked Waste Management for funding the event, and <br />requested a flyer for electronic distribution. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, <br />to approve staffs recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Adams, Vice Chairman Flescher, Commissioner Zorc, Commissioner <br />O'Bryan, and Commissioner Solari <br />1.5.8.2. 20-1367 Thirteenth Amendment to Republic Services <br />Recommended Action: <br />Solid Waste Disposal District staff recommends that its Board approve the <br />following: a) Approve the Thirteenth Amendment to Republic Services <br />landfill contract for the additional landfill gas operation and maintenance <br />services; and, b) Authorize the Chairman to execute the agreement <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Thirteenth Amendment to Republic Services <br />Director. of Utility Services Vincent Burke sought approval of a Thirteenth <br />Amendment to the Solid Waste Disposal District's (SWDD) agreement with <br />Republic Services to provide for routine and non -routine Operation and <br />Maintenance (O&M) of the County's expanded landfill gas system. <br />Discussion ensued between Director Burke and the Board regarding O&M of <br />the landfill gas system and SWDD's contract with Republic Services. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Flescher, seconded by Commissioner <br />O'Bryan, to approve staffs recommendation. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Adams, Vice Chairman Flescher, Commissioner Zorc, Commissioner <br />O'Bryan, and Commissioner Solari <br />15.B.3. 20-1368 Amendment No. 1 to Sitecrafters of Florida <br />Recommended Action: <br />Staff recommends the Board: 1. Waive requirements for bids for the additional <br />work as Sitecrafters of Florida, Inc. is under an existing contract agreement for <br />yard waste site improvements, and this is an extension of their work; and, 2. <br />Approve Amendment No. 1 to Sitecrafters of Florida, Inc., and authorize the <br />Indian River County Florida Page 16 <br />
