PROCLAMATION <br />DESIGNATING MAY 3 - 9, 2020 AS <br />PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK <br />WHEREAS, public employees at the federal, state, and local levels conduct the public's <br />business and perform essential services; and <br />WHEREAS, public employees improve our quality of life through their efforts in many fields, <br />including education, emergency management, public safety, transportation, natural resources, health <br />care and national defense; and <br />WHEREAS, public employees dedicate themselves to the continuous improvement of the <br />quality of life for Floridians, and many, including military personnel, police officers, firefighters, health <br />care practitioners, and others risk their lives everyday in public service; and <br />WHEREAS, the efficiency and effectiveness of government depends on public employees <br />ensuring government services are accessible and responsive to the diverse needs of residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners recognizes the <br />dedication, talents, and contributions made by public employees working in all levels of government; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners appreciates the <br />dedication, talents, and contributions of County employees who, by their example of achievements, <br />are focusing on the highest standards of customer service. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the week of May 3 - 9, 2020 be <br />observed as Public Service Recognition Week and encourage all Indian River County residents to <br />recognize the men and women who serve at all levels of government for the betterment of our great <br />County, State and Nation. <br />Adopted this 5th day of May, 2020.
