Szpyrka P.E., Public Works DirectorH4'/W <br />FROM: Keith McCull , P.E., Stormwater En ineer <br />Y g <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Change Order No. 1 to Work Order No. GKE 1 with GK Environmental, Inc. for <br />Environmental Permitting, Gopher Tortoise Surveys, Gopher Tortoise Relocation Services, and <br />Landscaping Design Assistance Services for the North Relief Canal Moorhen Marsh Leaps <br />Project <br />DATE: April 27 2020 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On May 21, 2019, the County entered into Work Order No. GKE 1 with GK Environmental, Inca to perform <br />environmental services for design of a new regional stormwater treatment system (Moorhen Marsh), intended to <br />remove pollutants from Indian River Farms Water Control District's North Relief Canal. Some of these services <br />have been performed, including an initial gopher tortoise survey. A new in-depth gopher tortoise survey is <br />necessary to meet state requirements that the survey be performed within 90 days of land clearing. The new <br />survey will locate and identify all gopher tortoise burrows and present recommendations regarding permanent or <br />temporary relocation of all gopher tortoises found prior to construction for a cost of $2,675. The Change Order <br />also deducts $2,240 for Task 3 of Work Order GKE 1— Landscape Meetings and Design Assistance as this task is <br />no longer necessary. The net contract increase for the Change Order is $435:00. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding is available from Optional Sales Tax/Public Works/CIP-Moorhen Marsh -PC North, Acct #31524338- <br />066510-16018. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board Approve Change Order No. 1 to Work Order No. GKE 1 executed by GK <br />Environmental, Inc., and authorize the Chairman to execute it on behalf of the County. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Change Order No. 1 to Work Order No. GKE 1 <br />DISTRIBUTION <br />Jennifer Hyde, Purchasing Division <br />Kristin Daniels, Budget Department <br />William K.
