11 <br />ON MOTION.BY COMMISSIONER MASSEY, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />SIEBERT, THE BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED THE FOLLOWING ORDINANCE No. 73-4. <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 73 - 4 <br />AMENDING INDIAN RIVER COUNTY ORDINANCE NO.71 - 3 <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of_County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County that Indian River County Ordinance No. <br />71-3 is hereby amended by adding the following Paragraph C <br />to Section 29, Administrative Provisions: <br />SECTION 29 Administrative Provisions: <br />(C) ZONING COMMISSION <br />(1) There is hereby created a Zoning Commission <br />for Indian River County, Florida, to be composed <br />of five members appointed as required by the <br />Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, by resolution. <br />(2) Members of the Zoning Commission shall <br />serve terms to be determined by the. Board of <br />County Commissioners by resolution, and shall <br />be subject to removal from office by a three- <br />fifths vote of the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the <br />Board of County Commissioners for the unexpired <br />term of any member whose seat becomes vacant. <br />(3) Compensation <br />The Indian River County Zoning Commission <br />members shall serve without compensation but <br />shall be paid actual expenses incurred in the <br />performance of their duties which expenses <br />shall not exceed allowances as prescribed by <br />state law. <br />(4) Indian River County Zoning Commission shall <br />organize, adopt rules, and perform its duties <br />as called for by this Ordinance. Meetings shall <br />be at the call of the Chairman, Vice Chairman <br />or Secretary or at such times as a majority <br />of the members may determine. The _Chairman, <br />Vice Chairman or any acting Chairman may ad- <br />minister oaths and compel the attendance of <br />witnesses. All meetings shall be open to the <br />public. Three members shall constitute a <br />quorum and a majority vote of those present <br />shall determine any issue before the Commission. <br />(5) This Ordinance is adopted on an emergency <br />basis by unanimous vote of all members of the <br />Board of County Commissioners and shall become <br />effective on February 21, 1973. <br />-23- <br />
