Stormwater Engineer l ' <br />SUBJECT: <br />Approval of Work Order No. 5 with GK Environmental, Inc. for Osprey Acres <br />Floway and Nature Preserve Nine -Month Plant Maintenance, Exotic Control, <br />and Plant Replacement <br />DATE: February 10, 2020 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Construction of Osprey Acres Floway and Nature Preserve (Osprey Acres) is complete. As part of the <br />construction contract closeout process with contractor West Construction, Inc., Part B of the <br />construction contract and a subsequent addition that increased Part B's scope, were deleted through <br />Work Change Directives. Part B of the construction contract and the subsequent scope addition were <br />for landscape maintenance and exotic control of the developed site (less Shallow Marsh 2) and would <br />have amounted to a fee of $41,142.94 over a nine-month contract period. GK Environmental, Inc. has <br />submitted a fee, under their continuing services agreement 2017053, for providing identical landscape <br />maintenance and exotic control services for $25,650 over the nine-month period. GK Environmental, <br />Inc. is currently providing similar services for Shallow Marsh 2 in Osprey Acres. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding in the amount of $25,650 for the proposed Work Order No. 5 is budgeted and available in <br />Transportation Fund/Stormwater/Other Contractual Services -Osprey Acres, Acct# 11128138-033490- <br />16022. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve Work Order No. 5, executed by GK Environmental, Inc. and <br />authorize the Chairman to execute it on behalf of the County. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Work Order No. 5 <br />Exhibit A to Work Order No. 5 <br />APPROVED AGENDA ITEM FOR FEBRUARY 18, 2020 <br />57 <br />
