Sheet metal to wood attachment (concealed): #10 stainless steel, low profile <br />pancake head with length to penetrate substrate a minimum of 1-1/2”. <br />3. Sheet metal to light gauge steel attachment: #14-13 DP1 stainless steel low profile <br />pancake head of length as required for three threads to penetrate metal substrate <br />or min. 1" penetration though wood substrates. <br />4. Sheet metal to sheet metal attachment (exposed): 1/4" x 7/8” carbon steel, self- <br />drilling point, self-tapping, zinc alloy hex head screws with bonded EPDM tubular <br />washer under head of fastener; screw heads to match color of wall panel by means <br />of factory applied coating. <br />C. Concrete and Masonry Anchors: 1/4” diameter metal based expansion anchor with <br />stainless steel pin of length to penetrate substrate a minimum of 1-1/2”. <br />D. Washers: Shall be stainless steel with neoprene gasket backing. Shall be 9/16” diameter <br />for use with #12 screws and 5/8” diameter for use with 1/4” diameter concrete and masonry <br />anchors. <br />E. Rivets: #44 stainless steel rivets with stainless steel mandrel. Length of rivet to properly <br />fasten particular sheet metal components. Rivets shall be factory painted to match <br />adjacent sheet metal. <br />2.4 RELATED MATERIALS <br />A. Sheet Metal Underlayment: 40-mil minimum thickness sheet; slip-resistant surfacing, <br />polyethylene-film-reinforced top surface laminated to SBS-modified asphalt adhesive, with <br />release paper backing; suitable for high temperature applications up to 250 degrees. <br />Acceptable products include: <br />1. Mid-States Asphalt Quik-Stick HT <br />2. Grace Ice and Water Shield HT <br />3. Carlisle WIP 300 HT <br />B. Silicone Sealant: Shall be a one-component, non-sag, neutral cure, low-modulus, UV <br />resistant, high performance silicone sealant. Shall meet ASTM C 920, Type S, Grade NS, <br />Class 100, Use M, G, A or O. Color to match adjacent materials. <br />C. Sealant Tape: Minimum ½” wide non-skinning butyl sealant tape. <br />D. Butyl Sealant: Shall be gun grade, non-skinning, non-hardening, flexible blend of butyl <br />rubber and polyisobutylene sealant. <br />E. Aluminum Tape: Pressure-sensitive, 2” wide aluminum tape used as a separation layer <br />between small areas of asphalt contamination and the membrane and as bond breaker <br />under the metal edge cover plates. <br />F. Backer Rod: Closed-cell polyethylene or polyurethane rods sized approximately 25% <br />larger than joint opening. <br /> EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Coordinate with other work for correct sequencing of items which make up the entire <br />system. <br />B. Ensure substrates are installed, secured and modified to accommodate sheet metal
