IRC-1838 Indian River County <br />Main Library <br />Roof Replacement 22 10 00-4 Storm Drainage <br />less than 15 minutes. <br />5. Inspection and testing operation shall precede any roofing tear-off. If deficiencies <br />or damages are observed, Contractor shall record the deficiency on a Roof Plan <br />and forward to the Engineer. The Engineer will notify the Owner’s Maintenance <br />Department accordingly. Contractor shall allow 48 hours after notification for any <br />corrective work by the Owner. <br />6. If no deficiencies or damages are reported to the Owner prior to commencement <br />of work, Contractor shall assume full responsibility for the condition and operation <br />of the drains. <br />B. Contractor shall be responsible for installing drain plugs during roofing activities to prevent <br />foreign materials from entering drainage system. Drain plugs shall be removed at the end <br />of each work day to maintain drains in fully operational condition. <br />C. Clamping rings and bolts at roof drains shall be fully reinstalled at the end of each working <br />day. <br />D. Drain piping clogged by construction debris shall be repaired by the Contractor at no cost <br />to the Owner. <br />3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Inspect interior of piping to determine whether line displacement or other damage has <br />occurred. <br />1. Submit separate reports for each system inspection. <br />2. Defects requiring correction include the following: <br />a. Alignment: Less than full diameter of inside of pipe is visible between <br />structures. <br />b. Deflection: Flexible piping with deflection that prevents passage of ball of <br />cylinder of size not less than 92.5 percent of piping diameter. <br />c. Crushed, broken, cracked or otherwise damaged piping. <br />d. Infiltration: Water leakage into piping. <br />e. Exfiltration: Water leakage from or around piping on watertight joints. <br />3. Replace defective piping using new materials and repeat inspections. <br />4. Reinspect and repeat procedure until results are satisfactory. <br />3.5 CLEANING <br />A. Clean interior of piping of dirt and superfluous materials. Flush with potable water. <br />END OF SECTION 22 14 00
