10 <br />1 "(8) the term `regulated lending institution' <br />2 means a bank, savings and loan association, credit <br />3 union, or similar institution subject to the super - <br />4 vision, approval, regulation, or insuring of a Federal <br />5 entity for lending regulation; <br />6 "(9) the term `Federal agency lender' means <br />7 the Federal Housing Administration, the Farm <br />8 Credit Administration, the Farmers Home Adminis- <br />9 tration, the Small Business Administration, and the <br />10 Veterans' Administration, when such agency makes <br />11 loans secured by improved real estate or a manufac- <br />12 tured home; <br />13 "(10) the term `natural and beneficial flood - <br />14 plain functions' means - <br />15 "(A) the functions associated with the nat- <br />16 ural or relatively undisturbed floodplain that <br />17 moderate flooding, retain flood waters, reduce <br />18 erosion and sedimentation, and mitigate the ef- <br />19 fects of waves and storm surge from storms; <br />20 and <br />21 "(B) ancillary beneficial functions, includ- <br />22 ing-'maintenanee of water quality, recharge of <br />23 ground water, and provision of fish and wildlife <br />24 habitats; <br />•8 140 is <br />
