26 <br />1 quirements under section 1364 of the National <br />2 Flood Insurance Act of 1968, and <br />3 "(2) that the regulated lending institution has <br />4 not demonstrated measurable improvement in com- <br />5 pliance despite the issuance of penalties under sub - <br />6 section (f), <br />7 the agency may require the regulated lending institution <br />8 to takg such remedial actions as are necessary to ensure <br />9 that the regulated lending institution is in satisfactory <br />10 compliance with the requirements of the National Flood <br />11 Insurance Program.". <br />12 SEC. 208. FWANCIAL INSTITU77ONS ELAN NATION COUN. <br />13 CIL <br />14 Section 1006 of the Federal Financial Institutions <br />15 Examination Council Act of 1978 (12 U.S.C. 3305) is <br />16 amended by adding at the end the following new sub - <br />17 section: <br />18 "(g) FLOOD INSURANM. The Council shall consult <br />19 and assist the Federal entities for lending regulation, as <br />20 such term is defined in section 1370(a)(7) of the National <br />21 Flood Insurance Act of 1968, in developing and coordinat- <br />22 ing uniform standards and requirements for use by regu- <br />23 lated lending institutions and Federal agency lenders <br />24 under the National Flood Insurance Program.". <br />•8 14M 18 <br />
