RESOLUTION 93-180 <br />A:RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA,' ESTABLISHING AN AGRICULTURE <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE • <br />. WHEREAS, . agricultural operations are a major part of the <br />economy of Indian River County; and <br />WHEREAS, an important step in fostering agricultural growth in <br />lIidian River County is the creation of an advisory committee to assist <br />the Board of County Commissioners concerning agricultural matters in <br />Indian River County, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />that: <br />1. ESTABLISHMENT. <br />The Indian River County Agriculture Advisory Committee is <br />hereby estabUshed. <br />2. MEMBERSHIP. <br />The Committee shall have seven voting members appointed by the <br />Board of County Commissioners. With one member from each of the <br />following areas: cattle, citrus, vegetable, irrigation, horticulture and <br />two associated industries. <br />3. TERM OF OFFICE.The term of office shall be two years with three of the initial <br />appointments being one year. <br />4. POWERS AND DUTIES. <br />The Indian River County Agriculture Advisory Committee shall <br />-- have the power and duty to: <br />(a) consider and study the entire field of agriculture <br />including agricultural economic development with the main <br />focus being agriculture within Indian River County; <br />(b) advise the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />request or upon its own initiative, regarding the <br />promulgation, administration, and enforcement of all laws, <br />ordinances, and rules relating to agriculture; <br />(c) consider all matters submitted to it by the Board of <br />County Commissioners; and <br />
