DeBraal, Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: July 1, 2020 <br />SUBJECT: Dedication and Acceptance of Right -of -Way from Florida Power <br />and Light along 98th Avenue and 16th Street for Improvements <br />Florida Power and Light (FPL) has received preliminary site plan approval for their Service <br />Center south of State Road 60 and west of 1-95 at 98th Avenue and 16th Street. In order <br />to receive final site plan approval, FPL is required to dedicate sufficient right-of-way to <br />bring 98th Avenue and 16th Street to the minimum width of 60 feet as required by County <br />Code. <br />The attached Special Warranty Deed of Donation dedicates two parcels of right-of-way <br />to the County. The 16th Street parcel is 0.601 acres in size and runs along the south side <br />of 16th Street. The 98th Avenue parcel is 1.764 acres in size and runs along the west side <br />of 98th Avenue. <br />Funding: There is no funding needed for this dedication. <br />Recommendation: Staff recommends the Board accept FPL's right-of-way dedications <br />and authorize the Chairman to execute the Special Warranty Deed of Donation for the <br />two parcels. <br />Copies to: Jon Rosenthal, FPL <br />Ryan Sweeney, Community Development <br />39 <br />
