Page 2 of 2 <br />CONTACTS BIDDING PROCESS <br />All communications concerning this bid shall be directed to Indian River County Purchasing Division at <br />purchasing@ircgov.com <br />OTHER ISSUES <br />• Review and comment with questions and clarifications as soon as possible, no further comments <br />10 days prior to bid opening (Bid opening is June 30, 2020, deadline is June 20, 2020). <br />• The Notice to Proceed to be determined after award of bid. It is tentatively mid-August. <br />• Maintenance of Traffic: <br />o Contractor awarded contract shall submit a Maintenance of Traffic Plan to the Traffic <br />Division for approval. <br />o The roadway shall be open at all times. <br />o The Maintenance of Traffic Plan shall meet the FDOT Index 600, FY2019-20 edition and <br />be signed and sealed by a licensed professional Engineer registered in the state of <br />Florida. <br />• PERMITS — None <br />• Work hours are 7:00 AM -5:00 PM, Monday -Friday. <br />• A hurricane contingency plan shall be submitted to the County prior to construction in case of a <br />significant tropical/weather event. <br />• Material storage and staging areas. <br />PROJECT REQUIREMENTS <br />• Invoicing shall be submitted on a monthly basis. <br />• Contractors/Bidders should review the required contractor form submittals checklist (Section <br />200-8 in contract documents). <br />DISCUSSION <br />• Attention is directed to the fact as noted on sheet B-3, "Pay Item 110-1-1 Clearing and <br />Grubbing", vegetation removal is also included as shown on plan outside revetment along the <br />river banks, on the bridge structure and the concrete revetment. <br />• Attention is directed to the fact as noted on Sheet B-3, "Pay Item 110-4-10 Removal of Existing <br />Concrete", no debris will be permitted in the Sebastian River or the river banks. <br />• The prospective bidders need to be aware that equipment access will present challenges while <br />performing the diaphragm repairs. <br />• General Contractors and/or Sub -Contractors need to be FDOT Pre -Qualified in orderto perform <br />the work. <br />• A hurricane contingency plan will be required to be presented at the Pre -Construction meeting. <br />• The area(s) chosen for material storage and staging will need to be approved by the County but <br />it is suggested to use the areas between the guardrails. <br />• The lines of communication with the Contractor and the County are important to keep open <br />during this project, especially in the event that it is discovered that the necessary repairs are <br />beyond the expected scope of the work. <br />ATTACHED: Sign in sheet <br />I'APublic Works\L-'NGINEERING DIVISION PROJECTS\1727 CR -512 EB & WB Bridge (88407879) Repairs\I- <br />Admin\Nleetings\PreBid\1727 Pre -Bid Meeting Minutes 20200615.doc <br />
