1. Safety Management System Introduction and Performance Targets <br /> This manual establishes the SMS policies for all transportation employees of Senior Resource <br /> Association. This manual will be reviewed and updated, as applicable, annually. <br /> Immediate changes to this manual may be authorized by the CEO. Senior Resource Association <br /> will communicate immediate changes to all concerned through email and bulletin board postings. <br /> Senior Resource Association's SMS has been established consistent with business needs and <br /> regulatory impetus. The SMS is designed to identify, assess,track, control, minimize and resolve <br /> hazards. Senior Resource Association's SMS will be used as a means of preventing injuries, <br /> incidents, system disruption, accidents, environmental damage and other losses. <br /> Objectives: <br /> • Reducing transit safety, employee, and environmental risks by better managing safety <br /> risks and setting goals to eliminate or reduce risks. <br /> • Communication of safety risks to employees and their roles and responsibilities related to <br /> risks. <br /> • Increase awareness of safety issues at all levels of the company,thereby providing a <br /> better framework/structure for management to play a leadership role in addressing safety <br /> concerns. <br /> • Continuous improvement of risk controls. <br /> • Compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. <br /> • Foster a culture where safety issues are identified and risks are eliminated or reduced in <br /> the planning process and delays or other impediments to business goals are avoided. <br /> SMS Performance Targets: . <br /> iMINSa07/6.2 R71511111M-Goal� <br /> Preventable accident rate per 100,00 miles: <0.1 <br /> Injuries per 100,00 miles: <0.1 <br /> Fatalities per 100,00 miles: 0 <br /> Safety Events per 100,00 miles: <0.1 <br /> System Reliability Mean distance between Mechanical failure <42,500 miles <br /> • These performance targets will be made available to the Florida Department of <br /> Transportation to aid in the planning process. <br /> • These performance targets will be made available to Indian River County Metropolitan <br /> Planning Organization(MPO)to aid in the planning process <br /> • SRA will coordinate with the state and MPO to select statewide and local safety <br /> performance targets <br /> 89 <br />
