11/10/D9 Logal(Re )1•YO/Mb <br />RESOLUTION 92-203 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />URGING THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION TO GIVE HIGH PRIORITY TO <br />THE WIDENING OF SR 80. <br />WHEREAS, State Road 60 is the only east -west corridor to the <br />west coast for Indian River County, and <br />WHEREAS, this corridor is a very narrow two lane road from <br />west of I-95 to Yeehaw Junction, and <br />WHEREAS, this corridor is traveled by many large tractor -trailer <br />trucks, and <br />WHEREAS, travel on this corridor is very dangerous, and <br />WHEREAS, said danger can be substantially reduced by widening <br />State Road 60 to four lanes; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />that: <br />1. The Board of County Commissioners respectfully request the <br />Florida Department of Transportation to establish as a highest priority <br />project the widening of State Road 60 in Indian River County to four <br />lanes. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner <br />Bowman and the motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Scurlock , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as <br />follows: <br />Chairman Carolyn K. Eggert <br />Aye <br />Vice Chairman Margaret C. Bowman <br />Aye <br />Commissioner Richard N. Bird <br />Aye <br />Commissioner Don C. Scurlock, Jr. <br />Aye <br />Commissioner John W.
