Each area of <br />funding would be associated with a need that has arisen as a direct result of COVID-19. <br />• Broadband and other technology needs for families and nonprofits to provide and <br />enhance distance learning & teleworking (e.g. — families with multiple children need <br />multiple devices for schooling, nonprofits & volunteers mentoring children, etc.) <br />• Mental Health needs are ever increasing. Areas of need include: expanding & enhancing <br />telemedicine, cost of mental health visits, additions of mental health professionals, costs <br />of behavioral health prescriptions, etc. <br />• Upgrading and retrofitting nonprofit facilities to more fully prevent the spread of <br />COVID-19. [e.g. —protective/dividing screens, thermometers, disinfectant foggers & <br />sprayers, UV light systems for air purification & germicidal irradiation]. <br />• Legal assistance to renters and homeowners about to be displaced by landlords and <br />financial institutions. <br />• Marketing and public awareness campaigns for the availability of CARES Act funding <br />for rent, mortgage, utilities, mental health services, etc. <br />• Rental, mortgage, utility assistance and food supports. NOTE: Expenses in these areas <br />will be limited to no more than 50% of the $1,675,000 CARES Act funds <br />Administrative Costs: <br />• United Way will receive a 3% administrative fee for managing these CARES Act funds. <br />• Additionally, United Way may direct up to 7% in administrative costs to its partner <br />agencies who are processing rent, mortgage and utility requests. <br />• Total administrative costs are not to exceed 10% of the CARES Act funds managed by <br />United Way. <br />
