<br /> <br />Meeting Minutes – Final August 18, 2020 <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />"Hunger Action Month" <br />Recommend Read and Present <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />Proclamation <br />Commissioner Solari read and presented the Proclamation to Rebecca Rodriguez, <br />who appeared before the Board on behalf of the Treasure Coast Food Bank. Ms. <br />Rodriguez informed that the organization was the largest of its kind on the Treasure <br />Coast, and shared plans to raise awareness of hunger issues during Hunger Action <br />Month. In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Zorc, Ms. Rodriguez noted <br />the Treasure Coast Food Bank's Facebook page, @tcfoodbank, was the best source <br />for information regarding food distribution sites. <br />Read and Presented <br />Presentation of Proclamation Honoring Dr. Edwin Massey on his retirement from <br />5.C. 20-1873 <br />Indian River State College <br />Recommended Action: <br />Read and Present <br />Commissioner O'Bryan read a Proclamation in honor of Dr. Edwin Massey, retiring <br />President of Indian River State College. The Commissioner spoke of Dr. Massey's <br />enduring legacy, and detailed several of his accomplishments including winning the <br />Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. <br />Read <br />6. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Flescher, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, to <br />approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of May 19, 2020, June 02, 2020, June 09, 2020, <br />and June 16, 2020 as written.
