• three Investigator's to get certified by the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators. <br />Also, in order to attract applicants, the Chief Medical Examiner Selection Committee voted to <br />increase the Chief Medical Examiner salary. Budget increases also include morgue supplies, <br />retiree health (now eligible due to transition to SLC), insurance content coverage and costs for a <br />new copy machine, a portion of which has been submitted toward the 2020 Coverdell Grant. <br />Finally, a three percent COLA for all employees except the Chief Medical Examiner is included. <br />There have also been significant decreases in the budget this year. These decreases <br />include compensated leave, liability insurance, four months of Dr. O'Neil's salary and benefits <br />and body transport. <br />Approval of this request is critical to the operation of the Medical Examiner's Office and <br />allowing for a smooth transition of Dr. Aronica and her consideration of enhancing the <br />professionalism of the office. <br />It has been a pleasure serving District 19 and thank you for the support and <br />considerations over these many years since I started as the District Medical Examiner in <br />December 2000.
