The children of families
that fall between 150% and 200% of poverty level desperately need access to affordable licensed,
high-quality early childhood settings. Child Care Resources had been serving this group but could
not provide services in more remote areas such as Fellsmere.
This partnership provides quality early childhood education to low-income families throughout the
county that make more than 150% of the poverty level but less than or equal to 200%. RCMA and
Childcare Resources seek CSAC funding to continue addressing child-care needs of families that
fall within this income range. These families work in landscaping companies, restaurants, the
health center, and the Aquaculture plant and so on. Without this program, their children are
missing out on a safe place for them to learn and develop when they need it most. This
collaboration has proven to be successful, RCMA and Childcare Resources look forward to
strengthening the program.
