The Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) and the Indian River County Department of <br />Emergency Services want our residents to be prepared. Here are a few ways to get ready before there is <br />an imminent threat: <br />• Trim your trees now and clear away debris from your home, work or school; <br />• Remove and store outdoor items that may become dangerous in high winds; <br />Build a disaster supply kit, make a plan, and stay informed. <br />We would like to remind all visitors and residents of Indian River County that hurricane preparedness <br />help is available online at www.irces.com or www.ready.gov. A hardcopy of the Disaster Preparedness <br />Guide is available in the Administration Building lobby or it can be downloaded at the www.irces.com <br />website. Stay informed by subscribing to Indian River County emergency alerts at <br />www.alertindianriver.com to receive pertinent notifications via text message, email or phone. For more <br />information contact Indian River County Emergency Services at 772-567-2154. <br />SWDD and IRC Emergency Management will be out at the Indian River Mall for the 2016 Hurricane Expo <br />on Saturday, June 18th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to hand out Hurricane Preparedness Guides, Hurricane <br />Tracking Charts, and to answer any questions.
