3/90 UTIL(WHARINCR.CEW) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-41 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />RESOLUTION 82-50, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTIONS 86---23, <br />86-30 AND 86-113, WHICH NEW AMENDMENT WILL <br />AUTHORIZE A RESIDENTIAL RATE INCREASE FOR HARRIS <br />SANITATION, INC., OF $3.12 PER MONTH AND INCREASE <br />ANNUAL FRANCHISE FEES TO SIX PERCENT. <br />WHEREAS, Harris Sanitation, Inc., notified the Department of <br />Utility Services in writing, as required by Resolution 82-50, Section <br />14, of a requested increase in its residential rates and submitted <br />justification; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Utility Services has reviewed <br />Harris Sanitation, Inc.'s request and, based upon a careful review of <br />the company's revenue and expenses over the past four years, <br />recommends that the requested increase amount of $3.12 be allowed; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Utility Services has also deemed <br />it necessary to increase franchise fees for Harris Sanitation Inc., <br />from one percent to six percent; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that effective with the <br />next billing cycle, that Harris Sanitation, Inc., shall pay to the <br />County six percent (6%) of gross revenues per fiscal year as a <br />franchise fee for its operation in Indian River County. Payment shall <br />be paid to the County on a quarterly basis, and shall be shown as a <br />separate additional charge on customers' bills. Harris Sanitation, <br />Inc., is also authorized to increase its rates by $3.12 per month per <br />residential customer so that the original residential charge per month <br />will be increased as follows: <br />$5.25 - Original Residential Charge Per Month <br />3.12 - Increase <br />$8.37 - TOTAL <br />The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Margaret C. Bowman and, upon being put to a vote, the <br />vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Carolyn K. Eggert Aye <br />Vice -Chairman Richard N.
