Wehking, Director, Library Services <br />Consent Agenda <br />BCC Meeting 1210812020 <br />Subject: Indian River County Library LSTA Grant Award and Agreement <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS: <br />The Indian River County Library System has been awarded a Library Services and Technology Act <br />Grant from the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Library and Information Services for <br />its project. "Expanding Technology Skills Education" in the amount of $9,646. <br />This grant will be used to expand digital instruction curriculum for adults of all ages utilizing a portable <br />computer classroom. The funding will be used to purchase laptops and peripherals in order to teach a <br />series of hands-on lessons in order to increase technology skills of seniors, employment seekers, <br />entrepreneurs, information seekers, and those interested in personal enrichment. <br />All tasks associated with the project will be performed by September 30, 2021. <br />FUNDING: <br />There is potential for a small amount, not to exceed $300, to be required above the grant amount <br />depending on current pricing from Dell. Funding is available in the General Fund/Main Library/ <br />Operating Supplies (00110971-035290). <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff respectfully recommends that the Board of County Commissioners accept the Indian River County <br />Library System LSTA Grant Agreement and authorize the Chairman to sign and return the LSTA <br />Agreement to the Library Services Director to be forwarded to the appropriate State Library staff. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />LSTA Grant Agreement <br />Grant Form <br />AGENDA ITEM FOR DECEMBER 8.2020 <br />33 <br />
