1/17/89.1(LE AL)Roso1(Vk) <br />x <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89- 10 <br />A`RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />BY ITS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, TO THE <br />LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA, THROUGH <br />THE LOCAL LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION, ADVOCATING <br />CERTAIN PROJECTS WHICH WOULD BE IN THE PUBLIC <br />INTEREST OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County is ably represented in <br />the Florida Legislature by Senator Tim Deratany, House <br />Minority Leader Dale Patchett, and Representative Irlo <br />Bronson, who constitute the Legislative Delegation for <br />Indian River; and <br />WHEREAS, the Delegation has offered Indian River <br />County an opportunity to discuss items which concern the <br />County for which the State of Florida may have solutions; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has authorized its <br />Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners, or alternate <br />Commissioner, to appear before the Delegation to present <br />these items of concern, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the <br />Board respectfully urges the Delegation to address at the <br />State level the concerns of Indian River County relating to <br />the following issues, which are not necessarily in order of <br />highest priority: <br />1. The four-laning of State Road 60 west from 1-95. <br />2. Additional funding for the construction of a <br />health department building. <br />3. Add it1unai library grants for operation and <br />construction of our two library buildings and programs. <br />4. Additional grants for art and culture so that <br />these types of programs can be continued and expanded. <br />5. Additional Department of Transportation funding <br />for state roads in Indian River County including the <br />possibility of local governments advancing construction <br />funds for future repayment by the DOT. <br />6. The prohibition of State -mandated programs <br />
