facility, is located in the northern part of the County on U.S. 1. <br />There are presently over 150 physicians serving the hospitals and <br />area residents. The Sunshine Rehabilitation Center offers physical <br />and speech therapy to handicapped children and adults. <br />Education <br />The education system is administered on a County -wide basis by <br />the School Board of Indian River County. The five -member Board, <br />elected for staggered four-year terms each, appoints a <br />Superintendent of Schools. The County has twelve elementary <br />schools, one middle -junior school, two middle schools, one junior <br />high and one senior high. There is one Special Education School for <br />all grades. Enrollment for the 1988-89 school year is 10,802 <br />students. There are 1,265 instructional and non -instructional <br />personnel with 732 teachers. In addition to the public school <br />system, there are several parochial and private schools. <br />The Indian River Community College, with its main campus located <br />in Ft. Pierce, about 15 miles from Vero Beach, has branch campuses <br />in Vero Beach and in Okeechobee and Martin Counties. The <br />state -supported community college offers a general college program <br />for the first two years and a wide variety of technical and <br />vocational instruction. The Mueller Center in Vero Beach has a <br />40 -acre campus, ten classrooms and office facilities. <br />Communications and Electric Utilities <br />One daily newspaper is published in the County. There are five <br />local radio stations. Telephone service is supplied by Southern <br />Bell. Vero Beach Electric System and Florida Power & Light Company <br />supply electricity. <br />SUMMARY OF CERTAIN <br />PROVISIONS OF THE RESOLUTION <br />The following constitutes a summary of certain provisions of the <br />Resolution. This summary does not purport to be a complete <br />description of the terms of the Resolution and accordingly, is <br />qualified by reference thereto and subject to the full text <br />thereof. Copies of the Resolution may be obtained from the County. <br />The covenants of the County set forth in the Resolution are subject <br />to any stricter covenants which may be imposed upon the County in <br />the Senior Lien Bond Resolution, which shall be observed while any <br />Senior Lien Bonds are outstanding. <br />Retirement of Original Bonds. The Resolution authorizes the <br />County to purchase and redeem the Original Bonds with proceeds of <br />the Series 1989 Bonds pursuant to and as more fully described in the <br />letter dated January 10, 1989, to the County from FmHA, the holder <br />of the Original Bonds. <br />27 <br />
