MAIN LIBRARY/DOWNTOWN <br />4/10/69.1(LEGAL)Resot(Vk) <br />ITEM 5 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89- 48 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO <br />THE STATE OF FLORIDA CERTIFYING THAT THE COUNTY <br />OPERATES A PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM AS A FUNCTION OF <br />COUNTY GOVERNMENT. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has applied for a grant <br />from the State of Florida for the development of its main <br />library; <br />WHEREAS, one of the conditions of the library grant is <br />that the County provide documents showing that the library <br />Is a public facility; and <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has chosen to provide a <br />public library funded by taxes raised through the General <br />Fund under the Board of County Commissioners, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. This resolution certifies that Indian River County <br />provides a main public library available to the residents of <br />Indian River County on a non-discriminatory basis funded <br />from ad valorem taxes raised under the General Fund of the <br />Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County. <br />2. This resolution further certifies that the main <br />branch of the Indian River County Library System Is operated <br />as a department under the control of the Board of County <br />Commissioners acting through its County Administrator. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner <br />Scurlock_____ and the motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Birdand, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as <br />follows: <br />Chairman Gary C.
