Prado, Assistant County Attorney <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Dylan Reingold - County Attorney <br />DATE: November 18, 2020 <br />ATTORNEY <br />RE: Permission to Advertise for Public Hearing for Amendment to <br />Section 100.03(4) of the Indian River County Code, Codifying <br />and Publishing the Ordinances to Readopt the Code as <br />Published by the Municipal Code Corporation <br />Section 125.68, Florida Statutes requires that each county maintain a <br />current codification of all ordinances, which must be published annually by <br />the Board of County Commissioners. Once codified, the Code is the best <br />evidence of the current law of the County. The Code is codified through <br />adoption of an ordinance; adoption of the ordinance must be preceded by <br />public hearing. <br />FUNDING: The only cost associated with this item is the advertising cost <br />for the public hearing which is estimated to be no more than $150.00 and is <br />available from General Fund/County Attorney/Legal Ads; Account No. <br />00110214-034910. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: Authorize staff to advertise for a public hearing on <br />January 5, 2021 to amend Section 100.03(4) of the Indian River County <br />Code. <br />nhm <br />
