"Sonny" Dean, Directo <br />Department of General Servic s <br />FROM: Lynn Williams, Superintendent 0 <br />Buildings & Grounds <br />DATE: <br />May 25, 1995 <br />SUBJECT: The Restoration Company <br />Consent Agenda <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />In October of 1994, a contract was executed with <br />The Restoration Company to provide anti -microbial and ozone <br />treatments to files, law books and materials to be moved to <br />the new Courthouse. The original contract was contained a not to <br />exceed amount of $20,000.00. This amount was originally intended <br />to treat all materials including materials stored in the basement. <br />However, The Restoration Company had not actually examined the <br />condition of the materials in the basement and staff original <br />quantities were for record books only. Financial records and <br />boxes of documents were not included in the information <br />forwarded to The Restoration Company. <br />Additionally, the condition of the materials requires a <br />more labor intensive process than was used for the main building <br />materials. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />The attached Amendment #1 in the amount of $7,396.50 <br />(letter dated April 4, 1995) is required in order to treat- the <br />basement materials prior to relocation to the new Courthouse. <br />2 <br />June, 6 1995 <br />
