<br />Components completed 9/30/20: Since our first Moonshot Reading Rocket engagement in October 2016, we
<br />have held over 1,102+ duplicated and non -duplicated literacy engagements for students, teachers, community
<br />partners, and children with families. Schools, early learning centers, communities, and MCAN partners
<br />throughout Indian River County have been impacted by the Rocket's literacy and social -emotional engagements
<br />in support of our collective reading goals and Moonshot Moment model.
<br />Program Description: The Moonshot Moment Reading Rocket is a mobile literacy vehicle creating customized
<br />enriched -literacy experiences for children and families in Indian River County. The Moonshot Rocket
<br />collaborates with several different community organizations and is a visible symbol of our community's
<br />collective commitment to the Moonshot Moment goal, across our entire county. Creating literate,
<br />compassionate, and creative citizens who can improve our world is at the heart of the Moonshot Rocket's
<br />mission.
<br />Collaboration: As a collectively owned symbol of community collaboration and commitment to the Moonshot
<br />Vision, the Moonshot Reading Rocket has inspired unprecedented collaboration between Indian River County
<br />service agencies. Some partnerships include:
<br />The School District of Indian River, County Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), Literacy Services of IRC, Boys and Girls
<br />Club, Independently -owned preschools, Vero Beach Museum of Art, Fellsmere Police Department, Vero Beach
<br />Police Department, Sebastian Police Department, Indian River County Sheriff's Department, Gifford Youth
<br />Achievement Center, Environmental Learning Center, Kindergarten Readiness Collaborative (KRC), Fellsmere
<br />Action Community Team, Childcare Resources of Indian River, McKee Botanical Garden, Indian River County
<br />Library System, Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA), Redlands Christian Migrant Association
<br />(RCMA) in Fellsmere and Wabasso, Subsidized housing communities (Victory Park and Orangewood Park
<br />Apartments), Vero Beach Karate and Adrenaline Martial Arts, Campaign for Grade Level Reading and Pacesetter
<br />communities, Indian River County Head Starts, 21st Century Community Learning programs, SDIRC VPKs, Dasie
<br />Hope, Churches, Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH).
<br />GOALS/OUTCOMES REPORT
<br />Outcome # 1: Provide access to enriched literacy experiences for children and families in Indian River County
<br />The Moonshot Reading Rocket has delivered over 1,102+ duplicated and non -duplicated engagements to build
<br />awareness of our literacy goals and to provide enriched literacy engagements for children and families. Enriched
<br />literacy integrates foundational, applied and social emotional learning to help support the development of the
<br />whole child.
<br />1st Quarter - The Reading Rocket created and facilitated 133+ interactive early literacy engagements. This 8 -
<br />week program, Literacy in Action, promotes the development of language and literacy skills, and social
<br />emotional learning, through music, visual text, and movement. The Rocket delivered Literacy in Action to
<br />classes of 4 year olds in SDIRC's VPK schools, including Glendale, Dodgertown, Pelican Island, Fellsmere, Vero
<br />Beach Elementary. We also provide this literacy program for children in three Redlands Christial5tligrant
