Szpyrka, P.E., Public Works Director <br />FROM: Monique Filipiak, Land Acquisition Specialist. <br />SUBJECT: Renewal of Lease Agreement <br />26015 I't Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32966 <br />Tenants: Nick Pappas and Ember Pappas <br />DATE: February 2, 2021 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The County purchased the 0.27 acre parcel located at 260151St Avenue, Vero Beach, FL from Theodore <br />Bartosiewicz on January 21, 2020. The purchase is an advanced acquisition of Right -of -Way for the 26th <br />Street project. <br />The County assumed the lease with tenants, Nick & Ember Pappas. The current lease agreement expires <br />on March 1, 2021. They are currently paying $600.00 per month for rent. Mr. and Mrs. Pappas continue <br />to have difficulty finding an affordable apartment to rent during the pandemic. <br />The 26th Street project currently does not have a commencement date. Staff would like to extend the <br />lease agreement for (6) six months terminating on September 1, 2021. The Pappas' have obtained <br />renters insurance through Progressive Insurance. <br />FUNDING <br />Lease payments received overthe six month period totaling $3,600.00 will be deposited intothe General <br />Fund/Rents & Royalties account 001038-362010. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve the Renewal of Lease Agreement for the property located at <br />26015 1 " Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32966, and authorize the Chairman to execute the Renewal of <br />Lease Agreement on behalf of the Board. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Renewal of Lease Agreement <br />APPROVED AGENDA ITEM FOR: February 16, 2021 <br />24 <br />
