Szpyrka, P.E., Public Works Director <br />FROM: Kirstin Leiendecker, P.E., Roadway Production Manager <br />SUBJECT: Indian River County Courthouse Renovations Project (IRC -1728) <br />Release of Retainage and Change Order No. 1 <br />DATE: February 3, 2021 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />On April 23, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners awarded Bid No. 2019039 to W&J Construction <br />Corp. in the amount of $1,750,416.00 for building renovations at the Indian River Courthouse. The <br />renovations included the construction of anew courtroom on the second floor of the courthouse, the <br />conversion of the first floor Law Library into new office space and an update to the Traffic Counter area. <br />Change Order No. 1 makes final adjustments to contract bid items resulting in a decrease to the total <br />contract amount by $233,167.65 for a final cost of $1,517,248.35 and makes final contract time <br />adjustments. <br />W&J Construction Corp. has successfully completed the project and has been paid $1,441,385.93 with <br />$75,862.42 held in retainage. W&J Construction Corp. has submitted Contractor's Application for <br />Payment No. 15 for release of retainage in the amount of $75,862.42. <br />FUNDING <br />Funding in the amount of $75,862.42 is budgeted and available from the following account: <br />Optional Sales Tax/Facilities Mgmt/New Account Number 315-206000-12009 <br />Courtroom Facilities/Retainage — W & J $75,862.42 <br />Construction <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of Change Order No. 1 and payment of Contractor's Application for Payment <br />No. 15 to W&J Construction Corp. in the amount of $75,862.42 for release of retainage. <br />ATTACHMENTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING IN ENGINEERING DIVISION <br />1.
