Community Development Director Robert Keating reviewed the <br />Comp Plan amendment process, advising that this is the first public <br />hearing before the Board of County Commissioners on the land use <br />amendment request. If the Board approves the transmittal of this <br />application to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) in <br />Tallahassee for their 90 -day review, a second and final public <br />hearing will be scheduled to consider any comments made by the DCA <br />and whether to adopt an ordinance amending the Comp Plan by <br />redesignating the land use and rezoning the property. If the Board <br />denies the transmittal of an application to the DCA, the <br />application process will come to an end, but the applicant can <br />resubmit after one year. <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of May 30, 1995: <br />TO: James E. The <br />request involves redesignating an approximately 15 acre tract of <br />land from C/I, Commercial/Industrial Node, to M-11 Medium -Density <br />Residential -1 (up to 8 units/acre), while simultaneously <br />redesignating approximately 15 acres from.M-1 to C/I.
