PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING FIREFIGHTER THERESA LYNN BRENNAN ' <br />UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />Whereas, Theresa Brennan began her dedication to the public when she <br />became the .first woman to be hired as an Indian River County Firefighter on <br />April 5, 1991, and, <br />Whereas, through diligent work and demonstrated ability, Theresa advanced <br />through the Fire Service ranks becoming the first female acting Lieutenant for <br />combat since 2007 after having held the rank of Engineer for over 15 years; <br />and, <br />Whereas, certified in High Angle and Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, Theresa <br />played integral roles in fighting fires during multiple incidents and in 2012 was <br />honored for her part in saving Fellsmere homes from a 350 -acre brush fire; and, <br />Whereas, Theresa has been commended many times to include cardiac saves, <br />delivering babies, volunteering throughout her career for the Firefighters Fair <br />and Big Heart Brigade along with countless community assists; and, <br />Whereas, Theresa has been a true public servant who could always be <br />counted upon to do the next right thing while serving the department and our <br />community with distinction and selflessness. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, that Firefighter Brennan's dedication <br />to the job, commitment to our community and loyalty to her fire service brothers <br />and sisters over the last 30 years has been exemplary and we all wish to <br />express our sincere gratitude for her service. <br />Adopted this 6th Day of April 2021. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Joseph Flescher, Chairman <br />to <br />4 <br />
