�6 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING JAMES HYDE ON HIS RETIREMENT <br />FROM THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />WHEREAS, James Hyde is retiring from the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, effective <br />March 31, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, James began his journey in law enforcement in 1988 and has served with <br />distinction for thirty-two and a half years; and <br />WHEREAS, James was employed in many capacities over his lengthy career, including deputy, <br />detective, undercover detective, and Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration, <br />but spent the majority of his calling in the roles of criminal investigator and supervisor; and <br />WHEREAS, James' many years of experience, demonstrated ability for leadership, and strong <br />public relations skills duly resulted in his promotion to the rank of lieutenant; and <br />.WHEREAS, James worked diligently under five sheriffs to protect and serve the citizens of <br />Indian River County and the State of Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, James' remarkable dedication to his profession has earned him the appreciation <br />of Sheriff Flowers and all those who have had the honor of working with him. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board lauds the contributions James Hyde has made <br />to the citizens of Indian River County during his highly -successful law enforcement career, and wishes <br />him a happy and prosperous retirement. <br />Adopted this 16th day of March, 2021.
