PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING ETTA LOPRESTI ONHER RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMER GENCY MANA GEMENT <br />WHEREAS, Etta LoPresti began her journey with Indian River County on May 8, 1992; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. LoPresti .advanced through her career starting out as the Administrative <br />Assistant to the Director of Emergency Services. On April 4, 1994, she was promoted to the <br />Emergency Management Planner for the Emergency Management Division and on September <br />5, 2014 she was promoted once again, to the position of Emergency Management Coordinator <br />in which capacity she has served until her retirement on May 7, 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, .Mrs. LoPresti played a key role in progressing the county's Emergency <br />Management program and has made great strides in Emergency Management throughout her <br />tenure. Through her commitment and leadership, Indian River County Emergency Management <br />earned accreditation by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program in 2016, one of the <br />highest honors to recognize an emergency management program; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. LoPresti has served on many State, Regional and working groups and task <br />forces such as the Local Mitigation Strategy working group Vice -Chair, Indian River County <br />Post -Disaster Redevelopment Task Force, the Indian River County Disaster Feeding Plan <br />working group, Pet -Friendly Shelter Plan working group, Large and Exotic Animal Disaster <br />Plan. She has also served as Emergency Support Function (ESF) #5, Information and Planning <br />and went on to serve as the Emergency Operations Center Ops Chief for .each Emergency <br />Operations Center (EOC) activation since 1992. <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. LoPresti has been awarded the Thomas Yatabe Certificate of Outstanding <br />Achievement, and the State Emergency Response Commission Certificate of Appreciation, <br />coordinated the county's Tsunami Preparedness Program to become the first county in the State <br />of Florida to be designated Tsunami Ready by the National Weather Services, and coordinated <br />the planning and implementation of the county's first pet -friendly shelter and disaster feeding <br />plans; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board applauds <br />Mrs. LoPresti for her 29 years of unwavering service, commitment and dedication to the <br />citizens of Indian River County. <br />Adopted this 4r' day of May, 2021. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Joseph E.
