Concerned with the preparation of <br />a world class workforce, the Private <br />Industry Council has encouraged educa- <br />tional, vocational training, social services <br />and economic development reform by <br />bringing our communih, leaders togeth- <br />er in open forums to discuss needs, <br />locate resources and develop step-by- <br />step plans to deliver top quality services <br />to the citizens of our community. <br />Strong community partnerships are <br />the cornerstone for all Private <br />Industry Council programs and are <br />responsible for the success in consist- <br />ently exceeding performance stan- <br />dards during the 11 years that the <br />Private Industry Council has served <br />the Treasure Coast community. <br />1991 Inanal Reperl le 1hp Commmit! <br />BOOK 95 PACE 567 <br />The performance standards, set by federal regulation, ensure that the Private <br />Industry Council matches the training and services required for each individual <br />to become a successful contributor to the local economy. Performance stan- <br />dards measure the quality of training and services provided to participants in <br />the Private Industry Council programs. Annually, all Private Industry Councils <br />are evaluated to determine if these standards are being met. The Treasure <br />Coast Private Industry Council exceeded all standards and greatly excelled in <br />six of the seven standards evaluated. For the past ten years, the PIC has <br />exceeded 96%n of all performance standards. The Private Industry Council will <br />receive $141,897 for meeting standards in Program Year '93/94. These funds <br />will be used to increase or improve local employment and training programs. <br />Commissioner Bird wished to give special recognition to Nan <br />Griggs, the entire staff, and all the members of the Council from <br />private industry who take a very in-depth interest in its goals. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Chairman asked if there were any corrections or additions <br />to the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 23, 1995 or the <br />Special Meeting of May 31, 1995.
