Brown, County Administrator <br />THROUGH: Tad Stone, Director <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />FROM: Erin Sawyer, Staff Assistant IV <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />DATE: June 17, 2021 <br />SUBJECT: Approval of First Renewal of Second Amendment of Property Lease for <br />Temporary Location of Fire Station #7 <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration by the <br />Board of County Commissioners. <br />DESCRIPTION: <br />On June 23, 2015, Joseph G. Miller and Indian River County entered into a lease agreement for the <br />use of the property located at 1893 90th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida to serve as a short term location <br />for-modularTire-RescueStation 47.On.May-2,-2017;-an.Amend. ment to -the -Lease Agreement -was <br />-approved reflecting St. Lucie County Battery'. and Tire Company as the Lessor on the agreement. The <br />initial term on the lease agreement was 24 months with the option to renew for 3 additional one (1) <br />year terms. On June 11, 2019, the County utilized the final one (1) year extension and the lease <br />expired on June 18, 2020. On August 18, 2020, the Board approved a second amendment and <br />renewal- of the property lease with the option to renew for 3 additional one (1) year terms. The <br />current lease is due to expire on June 18, 2021 and at this time, staff is requesting to extend the lease <br />for an additional one (1) year term. The monthly lease amount will be $1,092.72 <br />($13,112.64/annually), an increase of 3% over the previous rate of $1,060.90 ($12,730.80/annually). <br />FUNDING: <br />Funding for the property lease is budgeted and available from the Emergency Services District Funds <br />as follows: <br />ITEM <br />I Amount <br />Account Number <br />Fire Rescue Station #7 Property.Lease <br />1 $13,112.64 <br />11412022-034410 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the first renewal of property lease. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />First Renewal to Second Amendment of Lease Agreement <br />
