BOARD OF: COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />�Ekco <br />PROCLAMATION DECLARING A .LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY IN_. <br />INDIANRIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN CONNECTION WITH COVID-19 <br />WHEREAS, COVID-.19 cases in Indian River County -are on the rise; and <br />WHEREAS Indian River County wishes to have the flexibility under section 252.38 Florida <br />Statutes, in addressing: the increase in cases, to waive the procedures and formalities otherwise <br />required of Indian River County pertaining to: <br />a. Performance of public work and taking whatever prudent action is necessary to <br />ensure: the health, safety, and welfare of the. community and the,County work force. <br />b::. Entering; into and modifying existing contracts. <br />c. Incurring obligations. <br />d. Employment of permanent and temporary workers to :provide essential services. <br />e... Utilization: of volunteer workers. <br />f.Rental of equipment: <br />g. Acquisition and distribution, with or without compensation, of supplies, materials, <br />and facilities.: <br />h.:. Appropriation and expenditureof public funds <br />and . <br />WHEREAS, Indian. River County will not infringethe rights or liberties of individuals or <br />-businesses within lndian.River County; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant 'to section 101.10(1) of. the Code .of Indian. River.County, and <br />Resolution 2020_-104 of the . Indian.
