The vehicle to be <br />replaced is #228 (2013 Champion Defender; 257,851 miles; VIN 5WEXWSKKODH383661). Useful life <br />for .vehicle to be replaced is 7 years or 200:000 miles (FTA C 5010.1 E). Replacement vehicle will be <br />heavy duty bus (10 year/350,000 mile useful life). Unit cost is approximately $405,000 for the heavy <br />duty bus (any additional funds will be expended on other replacement vehicle purchases as specified in <br />the system's vehicle replacement schedule). The replacement vehicle will be purchased from the state <br />contract or the FPTA consortium contract, of which Indian River County is a listed party. Both contracts <br />comply with FTA C 4220.1 F. All new vehicles will comply with ADA standards. <br />All transit vehicles are owned by Indian River County.
