Board of County Commissioners Final Budget Hearing Meeting Minutes - Final September 22, 2021 <br />A. Announce 2021/2022 Proposed Charge and Budget <br />1. $84.76 per Residential Waste Generation Unit ($135.62/House) <br />(8.15% increase from current year) <br />$47.64 per Commercial Waste Generation Unit <br />(7.01% increase from current year) <br />Readiness -to -Use Fee $29.51 <br />(7.62% increase from current year) <br />2. $19,375,997 Budget <br />Management and Budget Director Kristin Daniels announced the proposed Residential <br />and Commercial Waste Generation Unit and Readiness -to -Use fee charges and budget <br />for the Solid Waste Disposal District. <br />Chairman Flescher opened the public hearing. There being no speakers, the Chairman <br />closed the hearing. <br />There were no proposed amendments to the budget. <br />D. Make a motion to adopt a resolution to approve non -ad valorem Residential and Commercial Waste <br />Generation Unit Charge and Readiness -to-Use-Fee. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Earman, seconded by Chairman Flescher, to <br />approve the Non- Ad Valorem assessment rates of $84.76 per Residential Waste <br />Generation Unit ($135.62/House), a 8.15% increase from current year; $47.64 per <br />Commercial Waste Generation Unit, a 7.01 % increase from current year; and <br />Readiness to Use Fee of $29.51, a 7.62% increase from current year, for the Solid <br />Waste Disposal District (SWDD); and to approve Resolution 2021-062, establishing <br />the assessment rate to be levied upon all real taxable property in Indian River County, <br />Florida, for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 for the Solid Waste Disposal District. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 4 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Earman, and <br />Commissioner Moss <br />Absent: 1 - Commissioner Adams <br />E. Make a motion to approve the dollar amount and adopt the budget resolution <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Earman, seconded by Chairman Flescher, to <br />approve the Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) Budget of $19,375,997 and to <br />approve Resolution 2021-063, amending the County Budget Officer's estimates of <br />receipts other than taxes and of balances to be brought forward for Fiscal Year <br />2021-2022 and adopting a final budget for the Solid Waste Disposal District.
