) <br />R E 98-0_ L U T I 0 N <br />WHERHAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, Florida, is the governmental body of Indian River <br />County, Florida, charged with the responsibility of promoting <br />public health and welfare of the citizens of this County; and, <br />WHEREAS, said boardhin determinod that the Unitod States <br />of America is the owner of the following described property <br />situated in Indian River County, Florida, to -wit: <br />The East 10 acres of Government Lot 1, Section 20, <br />Township 32 South, Range i}0 East, Tallahassee <br />Meridian; <br />and that said lands are hold by said Government for disposal under <br />the Recreation Act of Juno 14, 1926 (!{1} Stat. 741; 43 USC 869); <br />Now, Therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that this board does herewith determine <br />that it would be to the best interests of this County and the <br />citizens thereof that said land be acquired by purchase under the <br />above quoted Recreation Act and that this Resolution does consti- <br />tute the formal application of this board for the purchase of said <br />lands by Indian River County, Florida, a Political Subdivision of <br />the State of Florida. That said lands are unoccupied and are non- <br />minoral and are chiefly valuable for recreational purposes. That <br />the Plan of Recreational Development proposed by said County is <br />that of establishing a public park and picnic grounds for use of <br />the general public in pionicing, bathing anti sit,lilar public <br />recreational activities and that when acquired, said lands will be <br />improved in order to provide facilities for such purposos. That <br />the acquisition of said lands is sought through purchase. That <br />the Chairman said Clork of this board are herewith authorized and <br />directed to sign any other or further application n000ssary or <br />required in order to offset said purchase for said purposes and <br />that this Resolution is the authority of said designated officials <br />for any and all such purposes. <br />
