R E 8 a L U T I C N <br />f k <br />I; WHEREAS ,,the Fort Pierce Port Authority has established <br />4P oxine'Port in Fart 'Pierce, 'Florida, which said Port constitutes <br />the Marine Port for service not only of St. Lucie County, in whiohl <br />it is located, but also in Indian River County adjoining; and, <br />i <br />WHERW, the Board „of County Commissioners of Indian <br />E <br />'`River County is vitally interested in the growth and development i <br />i <br />of said Port for the purpose of obtaining adequate terminal <br />''facilities; and, <br />WHEREAS, said Port Authority has requested the Maritime <br />;'Administration to make an economic survey or study of said Port; <br />Now, therefore, <br />Big IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, that this Hoard does herewith roa- <br />pectfully request the Honorable Spessard L. Holland and the <br />Honorable George Smathers, United States Senators, and the <br />Honorable Dwight L. Rogers, Member of Congress, to use their best E <br />.efforts and the facilities of their offices to secure the services; <br />of the Maritime Administration to make an economic survey or <br />study of the Port of Fort Pierce at the earliest possible date. <br />BE, IT FUW. HER RESOLVED that certified copies of this <br />Resolution be forwarded forthwith to the Honorable Speesard L. <br />Holland, the Honorable George Smathers, and the Honorable Dwight <br />L.
