BOARD Of COUNTY COMMISNIONERS <br />OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />On Notion of Commissioner Allison Warren, seconded by <br />Commissioner Aubrey Waddell, the following Resolution was unani- <br />mously adopted: <br />Be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, that due to the death of L. B. O'Steen, <br />Sheriff of Indian River County, Florida on October 6, 1954, that <br />the ballots heretofore printed by the Board of County Commissioners <br />for the General Election to be hold November 2, 1954, are herewith <br />declared null and void and ordered destroyed. That the Board does <br />herewith determine that the ballots must, by necessity of time, be <br />reprinted providing for election of a sheriff of Indian River County, <br />Florida, and that such reprinting must begin on October 13, 1954 at <br />9:00 o'clock A. M., and the Board of County Commissioners do herewith <br />advise the Indian River County Executive Committee of all political <br />parties that each such County Executive Committee shall have until <br />October 13, 1954 at 9:00 o'clock A. M. to select a nominee for their <br />party for the office of Sheriff of Indian River County, and that all <br />such nominations by such County Executive Committees received by the <br />Board of Cdunty Commissioners by said deadline shall be printed on <br />the General Election Ballot as the nominee of such party for the <br />office of Sheriff. <br />He it further Resolved, that the Clerk of this Board of <br />County Commissioners is herewith directed to immediately deliver a <br />certified copy of this Resolution to the Chairman of Indian River <br />County's Executive Committee of each political party. That if the <br />Chairman can not be readily located a copy shall be delivered to the <br />Vice -Chairman or any other member of said committee. <br />
