8©�K <br />-V5 <br />rh;s+7 <br />Maximum sustained winds are 80MPH with gusts in squalls. Hurricane <br />force winds extend outward up to 35 miles from the center and <br />tropical storm winds extend outward up to 175 miles, mainly to the <br />north and east of the center. <br />.Rainfall in Indian River County is anticpated to be 1 - 3 inches <br />today and 5 - 7 inches by Wednesday night. Storm tides of 5 - 8 feet <br />above normal are forecast for the Treasure Coast region around <br />midnight tonight to 2AM Wednesday morning. <br />I have attached the latest weather information for your review. <br />Based on the totality of information available to me, I recommend the <br />following protective actions be taken: <br />1. The Board declare a Local State of Emergency and authorize <br />the Chairman to sign the declaration. The Governor has <br />already signed an executive order enacting certain <br />emergency procedures for the State of Florida. A copy of <br />the Governor's Executive Order, No. 95-282 is attached. <br />2. Authorize the Emergency Services Director to disseminate a <br />Voluntary Ev?r».a.ti.on order of the barrier island and flood <br />prone low lying areas as well as a recommended evacuation <br />of mobile or modular home residents throughout the County <br />effective at noon today. <br />3. Authorize the Director to take the necessary actions to <br />shelter the affected population during the course of the <br />local emergency. <br />4. Authorize the closure of county offices effective at noon <br />today and release the staff not required for utilization in <br />performing emergency duties associated with the local <br />emergency. <br />5.
