RESOLUTION #d <br />zM II WI-IE:REAS, Indian River County, acting by and thrwigh Its Board of <br />County Coin tilt ssloners, has heretofore set aside,designated and established <br />certain area in the County for the purpose of dumping and disposing of <br />refuge; and <br />WHEREAS, it is considered necessary, in order to provide for the <br />orderly and sanitary operation of these County dumps,to adopt rules and <br />regulations pertaining thereto; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the hoard of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, Florida, that the following rules and <br />regulations shall be applicable to each of the areas heretofore <br />set aside and established for the dumping of refuge within <br />Indian River County, Florida, as follows, to -wit: <br />1. Al l roadways leading from the nearest public road and pro- <br />viding for travel in, around and through the dumps are herewith <br />designated as public roads and the dumpin;; of any materials <br />on the same is strictly prohibited. <br />2.. The particular designated spot for the dumping of refuge <br />shall be from time to time designated and established by the <br />County Engineer and signs erected designating the same and <br />during such time no dumping shall be done in any place except <br />these designated areas, <br />3. Any dead animals placed in the dumping area shall be <br />buried and covered over by the individual disposing of the <br />same. <br />4. No contractor engaged in the business of and contracting <br />for the clearing of land shall dump any stumps of trees, under- <br />brush or debri in any of the dumping areas of the County <br />unless said contractor shall either bury the same or destroy <br />the same by supervised burning as shall be directed by the <br />County Engineer, Any stumps, trees or underbrush deposited <br />in the County dump by any other person shall be immediately <br />saturated with an inflammable material and set fire by the <br />individual placing the same therein. <br />5. Any person violating the terms of these dumping regulations <br />shall be prosecuted as provided by law and in addition, they <br />shall be denied the use of said area for dumping for a period of <br />time to be fixed by the County Engineer not to exceed 90 days. <br />6. In order to facilitate the enforcement of these regulations <br />and to encourage the general public in assisting the County in <br />enforcing the same, the County does herewith offer a reward <br />of $5.00 to any person furnishing information to the County <br />leading to the arrest or prosecution of any person for the <br />violation of these regulations. <br />MITCNEEE, SMfTH d MITCHELL, ATTORNEYS AT UW, VERO BEACH, FLORIDA <br />
