Passport to Early Literacy will provide one-to-one mentoring focused on emergent literacy skills and social/emotional development of VPK children whose family member(s) are living in poverty. It will also build parent capacity through parent training and family engagement activities. Projected number of unduplicated children to be served is one hundred twenty (120); and seventy-five (75) unduplicated adults. 2. Community -Based Mentoring will provide one-to-one mentoring to identified "at -risk" children and youth with a trained adult volunteer "Big" who mentors an average of 3 hours per week all year with a 11mentee/little". Mentors are matched with identified youth who are struggling academically and/or socially in the community. They focus on academics, goal setting, life skills, and removing barriers from future success. Projected number of unduplicated children to be served is thirty (30). Both programs provide quality one-on-one mentoring services to Indian River County children to support and engage all to reach their full potential.
