(FTL) provides several activities to address the needs <br />of children ages 6-13 with after school tutoring, counseling and one-on-one mentoring. The <br />program provides educational support services to parents and children in elementary through <br />middle school at three locations in Indian River County. The Tutoring Program operates from <br />September through May at Oslo Middle School, The Preserve at Oslo, and The Palms. Sessions <br />are held Monday -Friday for 2 hours after school each day. <br />FTL's summer programming continues its after school activities and adds supervised recreation. <br />Summer Camp engages youth in educational, recreational and enriching activities for 7 weeks in <br />the summer (June -July), Monday through Friday at Oslo Middle School. <br />The RR&R Mentoring Program will be expanded and will run in eight-week sessions throughout <br />the year. The activities will include teaching "Respect, Responsibility and Rules", understanding <br />good health, hygiene and safety, respectful treatment, employment attainment (appropriate <br />apparel, interviewing, resume writing, and facilitation of submitting applications). Youth will be <br />empowered by meetings with role models, managers and speakers. <br />The PIE Program works with parents of children who are struggling. This is a parental tutoring <br />activity that will increase their math, reading and technology skills so they can better assist their <br />children as they progress through school. <br />The projected number of unduplicated children to be served is one hundred twenty-five (125). <br />
