EXHIBIT A
CHILDREN'S SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
2021-22 GRANT APPLICATION
Agency Name: Redlands Christian Migrant Association
Address: 402 W Main Street, Immokalee, FL, 34142, US
Executive Director: Isabel Garcia
Email:
grants@rcma.org
Phone:
(239) 658-3560
Fax:
(239) 658-3571
Program Director:
Nydia Guzman
Program Address:
111 N Maple Street, Fellsmere, Florida 32948
Email:
nydia@rcma.org
Phone:
(772) 571-9015
Program(s) Name:
School Readiness Match Program
Focus Area(s):
Early Childhood Development
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The School Readiness Match Program (SRMP) is a partnership between RCMA and Child Care
Resources in Indian River County that has been made possible by CSAC's funding. According to
United Way's ALICE report for Indian River County, the household survival budget for a family of
four is $54,432 which is approximately 200 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) only allow
RCMA to serve families with incomes up to 150% of FPL. The children of families that fall between
150% and 200% of poverty level desperately need access to affordable licensed, high-quality
early childhood settings. Child Care Resources had been serving this group but could not provide
services in more remote areas such as Fellsmere.
This partnership provides quality early childhood education to low-income families throughout the
county that make more than 150% of the poverty level but less than or equal to 200%. RCMA and
Childcare Resources seek CSAC funding to continue addressing child-care needs of families that
fall within this income range. These families work in landscaping companies, restaurants, the
health center, and the Aquaculture plant and so on. Without this program, their children are
missing out on a safe place for them to learn and develop when they need it most. This
collaboration has proven to be successful, RCMA and Childcare Resources look forward to
strengthening the program.
The projected number of unduplicated children to be served is two hundred twenty-five (225).
